Shelby and Cameron Spencer
We were moving from Atlanta to Nashville and had sort of an open timeline. Brett kept an eye out for things that we might be interested in over a period of months. There was one house in particular that we saw online and really liked. We went to view it and felt pretty OK about it, but weren't completely sold on it. We figured we’d go ahead and make an offer on it anyway, but Brett encouraged us to wait and said he would reach out to his builder contacts to see if there were any new builds that might work for us.
That same day, he got back with us and said he’d heard back from a builder and he said he had a house for us that would be ready in about 3-4 months that he thought would meet all of our specifications. We went and saw it the next day and he was right. We ended up putting an offer on it, and since we had an open timeline we could wait that few months. So, I think just with him being able to tell that we weren’t completely 100 percent into the house we thought we were going to make an offer on, and then trying to find an alternative right away and reaching out to a builder was above and beyond for us.
I’ve known Brett since I was born. Our families are family friends. So we’ve known each other a long time. As a realtor, we really appreciated that Brett was very candid and would give us his honest opinion about things without trying to overstep or anything like that. There were some parts of the transaction where we were like, “Oh, we’re not that worried about it, let’s just let it go.” And Brett would say, “Hold on let’s wait a second and look into this and really see if that’s something we’re really ok with or if there’s wiggle room there.”
I would 1,000 % work with Brett in the future. He’s very relatable, easy to talk to and very calm. He’s a nice presence to have in the homebuying process.
